Workshop Descriptions:

Viveca - Veil Technique

Dancing with a veil can add many dimensions to a performance, flash of color, drama or mystery. The secret is to harness the veils many dimensions and use them to your advantage. This is done by viewing and working with the veil as a dance partner, not as a prop.

This class will be geared towards the beginner dancer with little or no experience with veils or to the advance dancer who has had “bad luck” with veils. Viveca will be teaching the basic techniques required for beautiful veil work, as well as, more complicated movements with the veil.

Participants must bring their own veil. A silk veil is preferred for this work shop.

Participants of the work shop may purchase one of Devra’s hand dyed silk veils for $30 which is a $10 savings over the regular retail price.

Workshop Cost is $20.00

Space is limited to 7 participants so register early.

Devra – The Dying Art of Finger Cymbals (Zills)

The use of finger cymbals (zills) is a dying art in bellydance. Devra has been dancing with them for over ten years. Come learn how to play simple rhythms and revive this dying art. The first 20 minutes will be learning about the history of them and proper fitting to make sure they don't become a flying weapon!

Participants must bring their zills, needle and thread.

Zills will be available for sale prior to the class.

Workshop Cost is $20.00

Space is limited to 7 participants so register early.
