Euro Games Night

Eat, drink, and enjoy board and card games in a welcoming, friendly, and relaxed environment.

This is Euro games night. What is a "Euro game"?

• A type of board game that started in Europe that has no player elimination, little player interaction, and focuses on earning points to win the game.

• Euro games usually focus on a particular tactic (like optimizing resources, trading, or controlling territory) more than a particular theme (like fantasy, science fiction, or warfare).

• A few examples of Euro games are Settlers of Catan, Carcassonne, Alien Frontiers, Francis Drake, Lords of Waterdeep, Runebound, Eclipse, and Takenoko, but there are hundreds - if not thousands - of Euro games out there.

You are welcome to bring a game that you think fits in this category to the game night if you like, but you don't have to bring a game. Remember that there will always be a selection of games for you to choose from that the hosts will provide.

Also did the Whole Foods location not work out?

Whole Foods was great in every way - lighting, tables, food and drink, friendly employees - except for one thing...they closed at 9:00 PM, and most of the Meetup group has indicated that they want to have more time available than that. The pizza place we are at now is open until 1:00 AM.

I'm certainly open to promoting a game group at Whole Foods in the future through this Meetup if there is someone who wants to coordinate it, though a Saturday evening that I am personally organizing there seems pretty unlikely at this point.

To the best of my knowledge, there is no group currently meeting at the library.

I'm surprised by the level of growth I've seen since becoming an organizer, it's given me more confidence in my abilities.
