Eurogames, Ameritrash games, meaty games, too many to list. Teaching games is a skill to be mastered. When it's done well, you'll hardly notice that you've just encountered a master.

I like a game group that attends regularly. I like a game group with a good mix of players and game teachers. I can teach games; too many to list really. I'm always trying to expand my repertoire.
My first time is always a "learning game". I try to make a game move along at its expected pace; some should play slow, others quick. I try to foster the enjoyment of others when I'm teaching a game, which often contributes to a loss for me. :-P
In a word: "Gemütlichkeit". That's what I get out of playing board games. For me, playing (learning and teaching too) board games is a great way to meet people and quickly enjoy an engaging experience with them.
People who like to play good stimulating board games should join this Meetup. No experience required!
