Health & Wellness Council Speaker Series: Become a Better Health Care Consumer
Relying only on your doctor is not enough! Learn how you can take a more active role in caring for yourself and your loved ones.
In our era of increasingly complex and, at times, contradictory health information, Dr. Pierre Onda, Internal Medicine Doctor and Medical Director of Employer Health and Wellness Services with Kaiser Permanente, will discuss how consumers can better prepare themselves to be advocates for themselves and the people they care about. Dr. Onda will share some of the strategies needed to navigate "big medical data" with more confidence and competency, how to assess contradictory recommended care guidelines, and how to become competent without being an expert.
