Volunteers are required to assist with registration and stuffing bags for the participants of the Once Upon a Race is an urban scavenger hunt with a fairytale theme. A-Dre Productions invites you to a time and place where fairytales collide with the hustle and bustle of the modern world. Once Upon A Race is an Urban Event, themed after the new hit show “ONCE UPON A TIME”. The race takes place in Downtown Denver with teams of 2 to 6 racers (18 +) will face a course designed to stump them at every turn. Participants or racers will solve clues that guide them to check points throughout Denver within an approximate 5 mile radius. At each location teams of competitors will be required to perform a magical fete (challenge) based on a Once Upon A Time theme. Imagine 700 people, dressed in full fairytale costume in a mad dash through the city vying to win cash and other prizes. Proceeds of this race will be going to the Matthew Shepard Foundation.

The Matthew Shepard Foundation was founded by Dennis and Judy Shepard in memory of their 21-year old son, Matthew, who was murdered in an anti-gay hate crime in Wyoming in October 1998. Created to honor Matthew in a manner that was appropriate to his dreams, beliefs, and aspirations, the Foundation seeks to “Replace Hate with Understanding, Compassion, & Acceptance” through its varied educational, outreach and, advocacy programs and by continuing to tell Matthew’s story.
