On 1/1/10, I left a paying job, 3 months pregnant, in the middle of the worst economic recession since the Great Depression to start my own law firm. Becoming a business owner is the second best decision I made that fall!
I absolutely love working with small businesses! The owners are always energetic and as passionate about their business as I am mine. Something interesting about myself, I haven't had my natural hair color since I was 12 so don't ask me what it is.
I teach free or low-cost classes through multiple organizations dedicated to making educated business owners because that is the best way to ensure they succeed. I also am active in the SMDCC and the Colorado and Denver Bar Associations.
Getting to know my clients is the best way to build relationships. I need to know almost as much about their business as they do to ensure that I can determine where they will have problems!
I love what I do and as a small business owner can relate to what my clients are going through. Since I know so many people, no matter what issue my clients have if I can't help them solve it, I know someone that can.
I provide legal services for small businesses - start-up advice, help with IP agreements (i.e. website development, online terms of use, online marketing law), and business contracts (i.e. leases, employment agreements, sales agreements).
"I maintain a blog on legal issues at www.eclewis.com/wordpress and have a facebook fanpage at www.facebook.com/legalsolutions."
The SMDCC group is great. Thank you for all you do!

Hi Elizabeth, welcome to the group! I'm glad someone with your expertise has joined. I'm sure a lot of us can benefit from your legal knowledge. I'd also be curious to know if you have knowledge in compliance issues facing various industries and how IT can help these companies be compliant. I hope to see you at our upcoming meeting and learn more about your background!
We'll miss you today!
