Education: it's a cliche, but there is lots to improve. In my opinion, NYC is the perfect environment to develop innovative apprenticeship-style education programs as a way to supplement primary and secondary schools and provide students with context-based learning opportunities. Open Data & Civic Engagement: NYC has the opportunity to be a real "transparent city" where citizens, empowered by access to government data and processes, can actively participate in everything from urban planning to policy decisions. ...and there are more too. Mostly I'd like to join this meetup to hear others' ideas.
Programmer/educator, works for Dev Bootcamp, lives in Brooklyn (most of the time). Striving to be a better hacker/teacher/activist.
