govSee - Surf the Government

Greetings OpenNY,

I'd like to share a project I'm working on that I've recently entered into the Knight News Challenge.  govSee is a government structure visualization wiki, and is meant to help citizens and journalists better understand who's who in government.  By creating an intuitive, visual interface to explore the various orgs, agencies, commissions and bureaus in our governments, we can get a better understanding of their missions, who is accountable for them, and what role they serve in the bigger picture.  As a wiki, anyone can help build out the structure for their gov and add bits of information here and there.

Further functionality is described on the Knight News Challenge entry page here:  Please take a look and ask questions if you have them.

Signup for our email list to get more information, and to be notified when we're ready to beta:

If you're a coder interested in helping out, please contact me!  Hopefully we'll see this come to life in the coming months as a great tool for open government.

Thanks for reading!
