Subject: [openny] Database advice

Hi all,

I’m a novice at writing code, so might I ask for some advice? I’ve been working on an android app that is meant to be a lobbying tool for the NY State legislature. Right now it is just a directory of members and committees. The data lives in a sqlite database that’s stored in the app. I’d like to add bill tracking, the capacity to create vote sheets, and other more dynamic content. Ideally I’d like to be able to edit the database both online and the app, and have the changes sync together.

But to do that, I think I need to move the master database to a server and figure out how to sync the different databases together. I have no idea how to do that. If anybody has any ideas or suggestions or places I could look for guidance, I’d really appreciate your help!
