For years, NYC's geo-spacial nurds have been frustrated by the cost of NYC's land use and geographic data at the tax lot level. If you wanted this data one would have to pipe out $1,500 for all 5 boroughs and then $1,500 for updates.

In April, almost a month after the one year birthday of the city's Open Data law, the NYC Transparency Working Group, The New York World, Steve Romalewski, MuckRock, and 596 Acres started to ask "when will mapPLUTO be free?" 

Well, today is that day…
