Congrats Andrew! NY State is lucky to have you!
Andrew Nicklin has been a pioneer in NYC's open data community, and is bringing his talents and passions to the State level. While his official title has been Director of Research and Development at DoITT's Office of Strategic Technology development, we've considered him NYC's unofficial Chief Data Officer for the past few years. He has overseen the monumental task of collecting and managing datasets from NYC's 70+ agencies, and making sure everyone is meeting the requirements of our Open Data Law. (Which he helped to write, along with the city's digital roadmap... when we talk about tech-friendly and innovative government, the politicians give their speeches, but people like Andrew are where the rubber meets the road)PLUTO was just a ripple... there is a wave of very high value datasets coming our way, and while Andrew won't be working in DoITT anymore, we'll all know who played a key role in churning the oceans to produce that wave. Upward and Onward! Congrats Andrew.-Chris
