Re: [betaNYC] Announcing BetaNYC's Projects Page (version 0.1)

I'd like to point out that Chris and our fiends in Chicago are trying to write out a "Civic projects" meta data file that could be used to make richer projects listing.

If you have two cents, please added it to this thread < https://github.com/chriswhong/betanyc-projects-list/issues/5 >.

Cheers!
Noel

This is wonderful, Chris!! So pumped to see this. We're hoping to have a crew of folks at the Coder Day of Service with CodeMontage this weekend contributing to projects with open issues, so hopefully you'll get even more support and use for these soon!

As for Coder Day - we're officially sold out, but likely will have a few tickets opening up as people firm up RSVPs, so please feel free to email me at [address removed] if you'd like to come but don't have a ticket!

Psyched,

Vanessa

Greetings BetaNYCers,

I'd like to announce the new BetaNYC projects page at http://projects.betanyc.us.  This site concept was borrowed from our Civic Hacker friends in Chicago.  It's 100% powered by the github API, so all we need to put you on it is the URL to your project repo.

When contributors join your project, they'll show up here, along with your last update date, name, description, etc.

If you are working on a project, send me the url for your github repo and I'll add it here!

This projects page is also a project!  (It's so meta) We'd like to add:
  •  Category Tagging
  • "I need help with" frontend/backend/UX/etc
  • A project Image/logo

For now, just the github info will get us started, but if you'd like to contribute, please let me know. (This was rebuilt in the MEAN stack, so if you're a node person I could definitely use some help tidying things up)

Happy hacking!

-Chris Whong
