Civic Hacknight with Regional Plan Association TONIGHT!

From: Chris W.
Sent on: Wednesday, April 9, 2014 10:34 AM
BetaNYC,

Please join us at the NYU-Poly incubator on Varick St for a special civic hacknight.

We will preview the benchmarking analysis and interactive maps that RPA will be releasing at their annual Assembly on April 25. New Datasets will be available at the event! RPA will explain the data and open the night for hacking, visualizing, and discussion.

The datasets include:
  • floodplain projections
  • the location of critical infrastructure potentially vulnerable to flooding
  • county origins and destinations of where people live and work
  • elementary school rankings; and household income breakdowns by income taxes
  • transportation costs, housing costs, and discretionary income
All of the data is for the RPA region (31 counties roughly from Trenton to New Haven) ranging from point data to data at then census tract and county levels.

Doors open at 6:30.  Please RSVP here.

-Chris Whong
