Friends, this is really exciting! On Tuesday, BetaNYC's Board of Directors met and unanimously voted to approve the policy YOU helped write!

TL;DR version - BetaNYC is committed to fostering equality and community equity as two core components of a vibrant civic hacker / civic technology community. If you are wondering why we take this seriously, we are growing fast! In the last 12 months over 1,000 new members have joined the meetup group. Also, we're on the verge of announcing a formal membership program and need to set some guidelines.
