Greetings betaNYCers -
I want to make sure people know that the New York Next Top Makers program is accepting applications from hardware entrepreneurs interested in being selected as one of six Next Top Makers. We'd love to get some good civic tech hardware projects applying!
NYCEDC’s Next Top Makers program will support six teams from the City’s diverse community of hardware entrepreneurs, Makers, engineers and designers to help bring new products to market and create new manufacturing and industrial capabilities in NYC. The program features a focused 12-month Studio Incubation Program beginning in September 2014 that will provide support in the form of access to networks, tools and space, legal counsel, product design, supply chain and manufacturing guidance, and more. The program will also host a wide range of community events that broaden awareness of and access to entrepreneurial resources, and will create a NYC-focused Maker Web Portal for all New York product makers to network, learn and build their ideas, as well as connect to spaces, tools and services available across the City.
Apply now to receive a year of support as a Next Top Maker to take your awesome prototype to market. Applications are open now through September 3rd.
If you have ideas or would like to get involved, but do not yet have a working prototype, sign up to receive updates on the program and invitations to events.
