Important: We're Becoming the OpenNY Forum

Dear Members of OpenGovNYC,

In an effort to be more inclusive, we've expanded the scope of our meetup to focus on civic innovation and collaboration generally. 'Gov' obviously plays a big role in this, so we'll continue to work on issues of open government, and inviting those who work in government to our events is still a key goal.

In addition, this geographical scope of this initiative has been formally expanded to include New York state. Hence the dropping of the 'C'.

The OpenGovNYC google group will remain active, and we hope that you'll continue to use it to discuss matters of open data and municipal policy. Meanwhile, we'll use meetup.com's native discussion list (now [address removed]) for the broader OpenNY discussion.

To learn more about these changes, please visit our blog at http://opennyforum.org

Best,
Matt Cooperrider
