Heretics,
I've decided it's time for me to step back from leading our bible study group. At least in the way that it is presently done. While I still enjoy studying the Bible I find that it's not as high in my list of priorities as it once was and I prefer to focus my energies elsewhere.
So I think there are two ways to go forward from here. A lot of us, including me, still enjoy just grabbing a bite to eat and having general discussion with people that regularly attend our group, so maybe we could continue to once a month just go to Outback and talk about whatever is interesting. Or a more vegetarian alternative for those that prefer something else. So just good company and no need for me to do any preparatory work.
The other option I'd like to just propose is that if someone else is interested in leading the group I'd be willing to hand over the reigns. I'd still attend because it's interesting to me (unless you really suck). But I'm no longer responsible for it.
I kind of doubt anybody wants to do that, but if so let me know because we do have a little bit of the infrastructure there. Let me know soon though because payment is coming due ($72 every 6 months) and along with leadership comes the bill paying. Mwahahaha.
I'm going to propose Thursday March 8 at 7 pm at our typical Outback location for just getting together for food. Maybe we will continue in this way and that will be a lot of fun as far as I'm concerned.
Jon
The coup is for real! Chris M is going to be our new overlord as no one else has stepped up. If I recall correctly, this is how Hitler came to power or was it Obama? I don't remember. Anyways, we talked about format changes and having a different member present material each month instead of burdening one person with the entire task. I offered to do the monthly reservation with the Library and a talk about Hindooooooooism. How is it related to the Bible? Well, all religious thought evolved from Hinduism, that's how.

Alright, I will get there around 6:30 and get a table for 8.

Bummer Jon! That sucks. Hope you feel better soon. See you at OBSH Vijaya. Please bring the Hindu bible, I want to convert.

I will be at outback. Not the library. I hope everyone who rsvp'd realized this. It is posted that way so...

Is anybody really going to Outback today? Jon just dropped out and I don't wanna go there and be the only one. Also I wonder how many would go straight to the Library at 7 instead of the Steakhouse :)

I will still go to the next meetup even though I can't go to this Thurs Mar 8 meetup. I still would be quite willing to help.

It won't be me Vijaya. Jon and I have discussed it. We are both not interested in organizing or assistant organizing anymore. Like he said - I'd probably keep attending if someone else picked it up, but I'm totally cool with just getting together for dinner/just hanging out discussing stuff once a month or so too.

I can share a quarter of the cost. ($18)
Even a third ($24), since it's only every 6 months, not every month.
Also, I'd be willing to be a backup or assistant leader, if Jason or Bruce or somebody will be the leader.
(Doesn't mean anyone else would WANT me as assistant leader!)

If anyone is willing to step up to the organizer position and keep this going, I am willing to share 50% of the website cost. Jason and Bruce, I am looking at you.
