All the bay area semantic meetups are co-sponsoring a panel on "Will Semantics Kill SOA" at the Enterprise Data World Conference, which is from March 14 thru 18. The panel will consist of:

Suresh Chandrasekaran
is Senior VP, North America at Denodo Technologies, a leader in Data Virtualization and Data Services Software. Denodo was recently named a Leader in Forrester Research?s Wave: Information-as-a-Service, 2010. Prior to Denodo, Suresh held product management and marketing roles in enterprise integration and BPM (Vitria), enterprise portal (Vignette) and Web search (Alta Vista) companies and was a management consultant at Booz Allen Hamilton. Suresh has spoken at several conferences on Enterprise Software and Web technologies, and is typically both entertaining and insightful ? he will present at EDW 2010 at 9:30am on Wednesday, March 17th ?Are You Smarter than a 5th Grader? Lessons for Next Generation Data Integration?. Suresh has an MBA from the University of Michigan and undergraduate from India.

David Wood is a Partner of Zepheira, LLC which provides solutions to effectively integrate, navigate and manage data across personal, group and enterprise boundaries. Most recently, David was entrepreneur-in-residence at the MIND Laboratory within the University of Maryland Institute for Advanced Computer Studies. He lead the implementation team for the Policy-Aware Web project, which developed a next generation access control system for the World Wide Web.

Dr. Wood is an adjunct instructor of Computer Science at the University of Mary Washington and researches the application of recombinant data techniques to software maintenance at The University of Queensland. He has been widely published, including Programming Internet Email (O'Reilly, 1999). He co-chaired the Semantic Web Best Practices and Deployment Working Group at the W3C, and was a member of the Semantic Web Coordination Group. He is a founding member of the Kowari Metastore, Mulgara Semantic Store and Persistent URL Open Source Software projects. Dr. Wood holds degrees in software engineering, aeronautical engineering, astronautical engineering, electrical engineering and mechanical engineering from The University of Queensland, the U.S. Naval Postgraduate School and the Virginia Military Institute.

Jamie Taylor is the Minister of Information at Metaweb Technologies, where he tends to Data Gardening and Community Building. His interest in large scale, non-relational data stores grew while managing Enterprise Software projects which used Dynamic Object patterns in his role as CTO and VP Engineering at DETERMINE Software (now a part of Selectica.) He was the founder of one of San Francisco's first ISP's and has a Ph.D. from Harvard University in Behavioral Economics.
