Minuteman Bike Trail, Arlington to Bedford, 1st Sunday @ 10:30

This ride is on only if its a nice day above 40 and trails are clear.

The trail is 8.5 miles from Arlington center to Bedford and we ride at a moderate pace. This event auto-repeats monthly and may be leaderless. You may rsvp 10 days in advance.

Lunch afterwards at Not Your Average Joes, 645 Mass Ave.

Suggested donation $1 for Meetup fees.

Wear a helmet, bring water and sunscreen, watch out for children on the trail, and have a good time!

The Minuteman Bikeway passes through the historic area where the American Revolution began in April 1775.

Today, the Minuteman Bikeway is one of the most popular and successful rail-trails in the United States, enjoyed for both healthy recreation and transportation.

The bikeway has become a new type of “Main Street” where neighbors and strangers alike come together while riding, walking, or skating on the path.

In 2008, Rails-to-Trails Conservancy inducted the Minuteman Bikeway into the national Rail-Trail Hall of Fame.

Does anyone ever leave from Harvard Square or Davis Square to join these rides? If so, I'd like to meet up with you the next time (or in between!) for a ride.

Great ride with a great group of people. Lunch was a perfect way to end our ride.

A very good pace was set which didn't seem too fast or too slow

I'll be there at 10:30, but we needn't do anything heroic. We can shorten the ride if people are uncomfortable. Bring a water bottle--you can refill it in Lexington and Bedford.

I'd, too, welcome an earlier start time but defer to the group's decision.

Anyone want to meet in Davis Square at 10:15 to ride over? I don't know the path very well.
