With smooth pavement and Harbor views, many stretches along the Harborwalk are ideal for cyclists seeking a scenic ride. With it's beautiful combination of beaches, park and walkways, it's the perfect place to go biking, all within the urban area of Boston.
We’ll begin our bike ride at Fort Point Channel in Boston, head south, passing Carson beach and take a rest room and hydration break at the Edward J. Mccormack boat house. Then we will continue on to JFK Library (there is a very short dirt section right before it), Umass Boston, and follow the coast past weekend fisherman to Morrissey Boulevard before heading back for lunch. (Approximate distance: 10 miles each way; 90 minutes, round trip) Post bike lunch suggestions; Flour Bakery café, Fort Point channel http://flourbakery.com/content/fort-point-channel
