Is everyone looking forward to getting together again and riding? It's time to think spring, and that's means a bicycle workshop to prepare us for the many planned rides ahead. The Bicycling committee of the AMC (Appalachian Mountain Club), which I am a member of, is hosting its annual pre-season workshop, and all are invited.
The workshop will cover a number of topics, including
• Bicycle Basics
• General Maintenance
• Flat Tire Repair
• Brakes and Derailleurs
The workshop will be in a rotating format, with each participant attending four stations in groups during the day. Lunch is included for all participants, and everyone will receive a handout on the topics covered to take home at the end of the day.
The price at the door is $40 per person. There is a discount for advance registration...so sign up! The prices are:
$30 for AMC members 18+
$35 for non-AMC members 18+
$20 for AMC members 12-18
$25 for non-AMC members 12-18
$35 for non-AMC members
If you attend, plan to bring the following items:
• The front tire from your bike
• Tire irons
• Air pump
FOR THIS EVENT, DO NOT CONFIRM ATTENDANCE THROUGH 'MEETUP'. YOU NEED TO REGISTER THROUGH THE AMC WEB SITE: http://www.amcboston.org/bicycle/workshop/reg.php
