Shining Sea Bikeway

The Shining Sea Bikeway is a paved pathway of extraordinary beauty. The Bikeway extends 10.7 miles, from County Road in North Falmouth to the Steamship Authority's Ferry terminal in Woods Hole, a historic seaside fishing village and the site of several major research institutions. It also connects at a number of points to the network of designated Bike Routes across Falmouth. The Bikeway traverses salt marshes, cranberry bogs, ponds and woodlands; it skirts sandy shores and a busy working harbor. Its course includes numerous intriguing geological features. It is also the only bikeway on Cape Cod that has a section along the seashore. From Boston: Take route 24 south to 1-495 south to the Bourne Bridge. Or take Route 3 south to the Sagamore Bridge Rotary. Follow signs to Buzzards Bay/Falmouth, then cross the Bourne Bridge. From Bourne Bridge to Depot Ave. Bikeway Parking in Falmouth Village: Continue on Rt. 28 into Falmouth Village. Turn right on Depot Ave (just beyond Queen's Buyway and Corner Cycle on the left). Just past the Enterprise Newspapers building enter the Depot Ave. parking lot, directly alongside the Bikeway.

Gary hope you have fun, I decided it was not worth the risk please keep me in mind if they do this again to carpool. I am away next weekend but maybe they will have it again after that

Has anyone checked the weather forecast lately? In North Falmouth, cloudy with 40% chance of rain and thunderstorms on Sat, Aug 18. Is there a rain date, by chance?

Parking is free. There are some restaurants within walking distance, if anyone wants to get something to eat afterwards.

My son and I recently road the bikeway and it was lovely. I'll be out of town on August 18th but would have joined the group if I were available. Enjoy the ride everyone!

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
