STP or RSVP2 2014 bike anyone?

  • July 12, 2014 · 7:00 AM

Looking for others to ride with on the STP or RSVP2 Cascade club rides? 7/12 and 8/16-18 respectfully.

Looking for those interested in a[masked]ish distance 1st day for the STP. RSVP2 is already setup split over two days (80 and 100?). Returning on the third day (Monday) from Vancouver, BC.

Ride pace about 16-18mph on the flats.

Sign up on cascade.org and then let me know if interested in riding together.

Cheers.

Loved it! Thank you CTS for giving me the tools and opputtunity to train. Some trainers inspired me, which kept me working hard. I may be back next yr

Have great rides, folks. I won't be able to get back onto the bike until the stitches on my hand (scheduled surgery) are out. It's going to be hot, so truly water yourselves well!

I'm thinking of a time of departure close to 0700, and meetup at 0630 on Sat. Weather is supposed to be really warm, so hence the earlier start. Anyone wanting a draft down to Castle Rock and Portland the next day, give me a yelp.

Any takers for a century bike training opportunity this coming Monday? I was thinking of riding around the sound weather dependent. I'm at work all day tomorrow, so give me a shout by cell -[masked] if interested. Leaving from West Seattle.

We are a group of 4 for sure, may be 5 depending on one member's health issues. Our average speed will be 15 - 16 mph, and we are riding to Castle Rock the first day. You are welcome to join our group, if you wish to do so.

Hi Ken. Let's chat about plans this week. I'd be interested in meeting up. You free this coming Monday too for a century around the sound (training opp.)? Call me -[masked]

Event is coming close. Any takers for Castle Rock overnight as a 1st day destination? I'm open to riding slower if I can grab some free draft! =)

Saw the average paced and changed to no...am much slower at this point (10-12mph) Don't anticipate being able to go to 16!

Thanks Evan! I can hardly wait for better weather so I can start my weekend biking. Hopefully will be back in my biking rhythm soon!

I'd like to find someone to go 10 - 12 with me; that's all my bike can do and I've done tons of training.

Anyone doing the Flying Wheels ride on Sat. 5-31? It's an excellent training ride for the STP and RSvP2 events. Again, I'm looking for anyone that wants to ride together around a 16-18 mph pace and is doing the century.

Hey all, I did the STP 2 years ago and averaged about 14 miles/hour. I did about 130 miles the 1st day, stopping in Vader. Would love to ride with a group, not sure if I can hang with 18 mph but could probably do 16. I am doing CTS to prepare and am in yellow 7

Is everyone here signed up for the STP? I think I'll separate out the RsVP 2 ride to make it more clear.

Riding to Kelso on the first day of STP

    February 17, 2014

do you know the distance of Kelso? I need to find booking for overnight this year..and was thinking of that school? down there? spagetthi feed? I'll have to recall my notes from two years ago (of course, breezing by there at a 22mph clip for 1-dayers, I didn't really pay that much attention! =)

I did the STP last year with very little training. The first day I did 140 miles. The pace wasn't bad, I also did it with someone who hadn't ridden much and wasn't familiar with the bike because it was mine. I haven't signed up for any events/training rides so far. I'm open to riding anytime.

Ted - how was day 2? I am targeting around 130miles on day 1. My biggest fear is that after that long a ride, I won't be able to get back on my bike on day 2! :)

Day 2 wasn't too bad. Of course we were sore and it was a little rough getting back on the bike. But that's why I chose to stop in Castle Rock. Much easier to push the mileage the first day rather than the second day. A lot just depends on how much rest u need to recover. I didn't get to the hotel until around 9 and had to be at the trucks to drop off my bag by 8 the next morning. It was fun.

If you haven't already purchased tickets - NOW is the time to do so. They've usually sold out prior to end of Feb. in the past
