This is the biking group for experienced riders who are less interested in speed and more interested in interesting routes and friendly people. We will do rides of 25 - 40 miles at a "C+" pace (approx 14 mph).
Routes may be planned around scenic areas, interesting destinations, special events, or lunch stops at popular restaurants. All rides will include a food & fellowship event at some point during the day.
Route planning will take into consideration safety and keeping hill climbs to a moderate level.
What you can expect from us:
1. You won't be treated like a "newbie"
2. You don't have to have all the best "gear"
3. You don't have to be in top athletic form
4. Common sense safe riding practices
5. A friendly, light-hearted atmosphere
What we expect from you:
1. Helmets and water are mandatory
2. You have recently done 20 mile+ rides
3. Your bike is in sound mechanical condition and appropriate for moderate distances
4. Familarity with bicycle road safety rules
5. Show up on time (VERY IMPORTANT!)
6. On your second ride you're an "old hand" and will make first-timers feel welcome
