A flat, easy ride, suitable for all!

We'll head down Algonquin to Warner, turn right to PCH and take PCH into Long Beach,  PASSING 2nd Street, and up to Loynes Drive. Left on Loynes a couple of blocks, then across the intersection to the bike path. Along the bike path to Eliot, and through the Marine Stadium Parking lot (if there's an event underway we bypass the lot and cross to Appian Way). Either way, ride down to Bayshore and turn right.  Stay on Bayshore, across 2nd street, and jog left at 54th Pl. to Ocean Bl. where we pick up the bike path on the beach. Stay on the bike path to Shoreline Village, go through the parking lot, restaurant row, past the aquarium to the Lighthouse.

The return route will follow the same path in reverse, UNTIL reaching Bayshore Dr. and 2nd St. Turn right on 2nd St. and proceed to Marina Dr. A right on Marina Dr., continue past Studebaker to next stop sign and turn left over the bridge into Seal Beach. A right turn on 1st St. to Ocean, left on Ocean to Seal Beach Bl., and back to PCH. Right on PCH, past Surfside, and turn right on Anderson (at the water tower), to Pacific. Left on the one-way southbound side of Pacific to Warner, and then up Warner to Algonquin and the starting point. All in all a 26 miler.

Please make sure that your bike is in good working order and ready to go BEFORE Sat morning, and that you have a spare tube, water, and your helmet!

Had to take care of something in the morning. Was itching to ride later on, so I did Bob to Beach starting at 12:15. Wind was a bit strong, but it was a cool wind, so heat was not a factor. Beach was overcast. Wind gave me a big push on the return.

Turned out to be a great day to ride along the coast. Warm and a bit humid, but not too hot. It was nice to have the ol' marine layer come back in as we hit Sunset Beach on the return leg. New members Elijah and Ruben were welcomed to the group and got to see what we were like to ride with. And former member David came out of hibernation to join us! Perhaps he'll re-join soon. Even though Matt was running late, he caught up, and passed all but Tracy before we reached the downtown marina, kudos Matt. Dean and his trusty camera documented it all! A few of us had lunch at SuperMex after the ride, a great way to unwind!

Ok, summer is upon us and the weather is heatin' up. AccuWeather says it'll be 75 at 9AM, but feel like 78, and 81 at noon, but feel like 85! So future rides might be starting at 8, but this one will still go off at 8:30 -- unless everyone gets there early enough to leave sooner! Bring plenty of water and don't forget your sunscreen.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
