This is an easy 23 mile ride through bike lanes and bike paths in Irvine visiting the Irvine Hidden Gem - Natural Wonder.

This ride takes us to the IRWD San Joaquin Marsh & Wildlife Sanctuary. A true hidden gem located in the heart of busy Orange County.  IRWD San Joaquin Marsh Campus is made up of several historic and restored ranch houses, the IRWD Duck Club, the IRWD Learning Center and offers several short nature trails.

The IRWD Visitor's Center is housed in the Irvine Ranch Marsh House. The house is a relocated and refurbished 1920s era farm house that sits near the center of IRWD's San Joaquin Marsh Campus.

In case we decide to take a walk on one of the very short nature trails, I will be bringing a bike lock. No bikes are allowed on the trails but a bike rack is available. This will be a fun ride adding a bit of nature and Irvine Ranch history!

You are welcome to stop by and treat yourself to an informative self-guided tour of our inviting displays inside the Marsh House.

From here we will head back to have lunch (optional) at Woodbury open air food court.

A very nice ride around Irvine. Good weather, cool and cloudy, made it very comfortable. There were a couple of places that allowed for some prolonged speed runs without losing anyone, and the stop at the Duck House was perfect. Glad some got to see it for the first time. Great job, Marla, thanks for putting this one together.
