A flat, easy ride, suitable for all!

The route has been extended by a few miles,

so be sure to take a close look at the route map.

If at any time you find yourself in the lead,

and are not 100% certain where you're going,

pull over and wait!

We'll head down Algonquin to Warner, turn right to PCH and take PCH into Long Beach, PASSING our usual turn at Studebaker, PASSING 2nd Street, and up to Loynes Drive. Left on Loynes a couple of blocks, then across the intersection to the bike path. Along the bike path to Eliot, and left until we can cross to Appian Way. Left on Appian Way to Bayshore, turn right and stay on Bayshore. Jog left at 54th Pl. to Ocean Bl. where we pick up the bike path on the beach. Stay on the bike path to Shoreline Village, go through the parking lot, restaurant row, past the aquarium to the Lighthouse.

The return route will follow the same path in reverse, UNTIL reaching Bayshore Dr. and 2nd St. Turn right on 2nd St. and proceed to Marina Dr. A right on Marina Dr., continue past Studebaker to next stop sign and turn left over the bridge into Seal Beach. A right turn on 1st St. to Ocean, left on Ocean to Seal Beach Bl., and back to PCH. Right on PCH, past Surfside, and turn right on Anderson (at the water tower), to Pacific. Left on the one-way southbound side of Pacific to Warner, and then up Warner to Algonquin and the starting point. All in all a 26 miler.

Please make sure that your bike is in good working order and ready to go BEFORE Sat morning, and that you have a spare tube, water, and your helmet!

Having not doing any riding on my Bike for over two weeks, I finally felt that I was OK to ride, even if I didn't have clearance from my doctor. Mike must have had a talk with "MOTHER NATURE" as the weather was absolutely wonderful and the ride was very scenic with the path Mike took. Mike set an easy pace which kept the group pretty much together.

Beautiful day to ride, bright, sunny, and warm! David showed up to round our group to an even dozen, and everyone got to welcome new member Chris and his single speed 29'er. We met Kristina on the way back, on the LB bike path, merrily pedaling away with her little dog enjoying the view. Happy to say that everyone completed the ride and that there were minimal problems. 8 of us had lunch afterwards at SuperMex, and Duane's request for a Japanese or sushi restaurant next time was noted.
