All skill and fitness levels, urban, recreational and commuter cyclists, city, comfort, hybrid bicycles, electric bicycles, recumbrants, cruisers, touring, road, mountain and 29rs.
Basically if it is a pedal powered and/or pedal-non-gas burning power assist bike or vehicle its welcome.
Unfortunately owners of electric scooters and mopeds that have pedals on them but are not really intended to be pedalled or practical to be pedaled will need to find another group to ride with. Likewise riders of gas powered scooters, mopeds and bicycles with bolt on engines will also need to find other groups to ride with.
We are promoting pedal power and clean alternative hybrid power assist bikes, trikes and even quads as fun, healthy, practical, clean and more efficient ways to get around the city for fun, work and daily life.
We want to do rides all over the GVRD region. All members can post rides on the calendar so if you are going for a ride, whereever it is, be it recreational or commuter post it up on the calendar, ride together for fun and safety and make new friends.
Usual pace: 15-25 km/h but no-one gets left behind. We will bike as a group. When you post your rides, list your skill experience and fitness level and the levels you are expecting and intending for the ride.
Please be aware all ride posters, hosts, assistant organisers, the organisers and meetup are not responsible for your safety at any VR&CC ride or event. You are responsible for your own safety, the decisions you make and the results of your decisions.
Helmets are required for all rides. You also require appropriate clothing for the weather and ride and water. You should also have a complete road side repair kit to deal with flats and minor repairs, personal first aid kit and food. Basically you need to be prepared to look after yourself in the event you get separated.
