How fast do we ride?
Each ride leader describes how fast that ride will be. Most of our rides are "no drop" rides--we'll wait for anyone. In return, try to make sure that you can do the pace described for that ride. Our "no drop" is designed to allow people to stretch their riding abilities, reaching for that "next step" in distance or pace--but this means you should be honest about what you think you can do.
Some rides will be listed at "clip in pedals" and are faster pace. Since our leadership changes over the years, some times we'll have more tour paced rides, other times more speed oriented. If you're dying to be a racer, we may be a good place to start, but after a short while you'll probably want to join club rides that focus on pace lines and race preparation.
We don't have any official rating system, but here's the Grizzly Peak Cyclist ratings, that may help our leaders and riders get a sense of how other cyclists rate rides:
Road or Mountain?
Our current leaders are pretty much a road cycling group. If anyone wants to lead a mountain bike ride, email our organizers and we can make you an organizer
