Details: 30 miles, 2400 feet climb. 12-14 MPH. Moderately strenuous.
Meet 9:15, ready to roll 9:30.
Use restroom before. There is a Starbucks at the El Cerrito Plaza Mall. There is one more during the ride.
There will be no sweeper. (Of course we wait for those a few minutes behind. You'd better be waiting for me at times while I climb the hills! I'm slow on hills!)
Cross-posted with Norcal Bicycle Camping and Touring:
Driver cyclists can park near the Pacific Coast Mall for convenience so they don't have to ride back 0.9 miles after the massage! (I would park outside of the parking lot in case they have time restrictions when not shopping.)
Or, you can park near the El Cerrito Plaza Mall.
This map link shows both the El Cerrito Plaza BART and the Pacific East Mall:
From the BART station, we will ride along the Ohlone Greenway and I-80 bikeway clockwise around the 3 bears: Mama, Papa and Baby. Nice long rollers with rural scenery.
The final climb up Wildcat Canyon will save us a few miles as we head back to El Cerrito Plaza BART.
From there, it's a 0.9 mile ride to Pacific East Mall's *Golden Island Massage where you will have an opportunity for a 1 hour unique and relaxing authentic Chinese massage experience for 20.00. It's billed as a foot-reflexology massage, but in fact, you sit in recliners and it's basically a clothed full body massage in a group setting. 6 recliners in one room, 4 in the other.
BART travelers will head back to El Cerrito Plaza.
Please write on message board whether you want to be booked for a massage and give at least 2 days notice if you need to cancel. Massage appointments are limited to availability.
