Purely SF Bike Ride: lunch stop in the Mission and Pier 23 drinks at the finish

No Drop Policy:  I will wait (and you will wait for me!) 10 minutes at the top of hills for catchup.  Larger groups invariably split up.  I encourage you to print the route sheet and I'll will provide copies at the ride as well.

Route:  http://www.mapmyride.com/routes/view/256102915

Highlights:

• Alamo Square Painted Ladies

• Top of Presidio, Inspiration Point

• A dash out and back across the Golden Gate Bridge for views and a likely blast of wind

• Seacliff

• Great Ocean Highway

• Golden Gate Park

• The famous "Wiggle"

• Horchata and lunch stop in the Mission

• Embarcadero Pier 23 for refreshments at the beer garden at the end.

Bring:  one bottle of water, one bottle lytes, snacks, tube, helmet, money

Activity Fee:  2.00 (covers website fee and event planning)

Other groups may be joining us.

I will likely be assuming the role of organizer of this group in the near future (along with the website meetup fees.)  I'd like your suggestions for a new name that casts a broader net over the cycling community.  We have greatly expanded our geographic location of rides over the last few months, so I though a new name would be fitting.  If you have a name or have rides you'd like to suggest, let me know!  We also already have other amazing event planners on in this group!

Great ride, Franny! Thanks for organizing this. Next time I'll be sure to eat a good breakfast and bring some food with me so I don't konk out.

I don't feel like we were waiting for long at all and it's always a pleasure to see you on rides. (You were the first to introduce me to this meetup cycling concept on the one you led in March!)

I'm on BART, be there about 9:20/5, what time do you think you'll actually depart? I can get off at Powell and meet the group if needed.

I made it. Seems like departure is about 9:30 :-)

I would have loved to join you all on this fun ride, but I'm in that charity ride for Fast Freddie Gran Fondo @ the Claremont Hotel. Next time.

Thanks, Ryan. Just doing the 45 mile ride. I'll need more training for that epic route involving Mt. Diablo! I'm sure you can easily finish that big route but you'll probably need the road bike and not the fixed-gear bike. Have fun on the SF ride!

Haha, yep, I'm no stranger to epic centuries on a road bike, but still have a LOT of training to do before attempting one fixed! Hope to see you on another ride soon :)

I will not be able to answer texts after the ride starts. Everyone has signed that they are responsible for their own health and safety. See you at the clock tower~

    Hi Cyclists~

Looking forward to our ride the The City tomorrow. If you are unable to attend, update your RSPV to No. No Shows are noted and may jeopardize your ability to attend future rides.

Please bring a 2.00 activity fee to be collected at the beginning of the ride, which covers event planning and I will print out some route sheets. Print your own if you are able.

Also, note the following: Large groups inevitably break up, but we will have meeting places where we will regroup as best we can. 10 min. at Inspiration Point above the Presidio, 10 min. at the Golden Gate Plaza, 10 min. at Legion of Honor, 10 minutes at the turn into Golden Gate Park, 20-30 min. in the Mission for lunch, and then Pier 23. This is the lunch location: http://www.yelp.com/biz/pancho-...

    Pancho Villa Taqueria. Bring cash.

I want to ride further along Ocean Highway before we backtrack into the park. This is a good flat unobstructed portion to power it up...

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
