French film screening at the MAC from this weekend:
Director Farhadi follows up his Oscar-winning 2012 film A Separation, with this skillful drama featuring The Artist’s Bérénice Bejo. An Iranian man reunites with his estranged wife (Bérénice Bejo) in Paris to finalize their divorce, which is soon complicated by a shocking revelation by her daughter from a previous marriage.
His (soon to be) ex-wife Marie is in a new relationship with an Arab man named Samir, who has a son and whose wife is in a coma.
The relationship of the older daughter and her mother is in deterioration because the daughter thinks her mother is the cause of Samir's wife comatose state. The affairs get more complicated when the older daughter discloses something heinous she has done.
