A New First: Bitcoin Dinner & Drinks at Central Bistro

Hello again, Bitcoin enthusiasts and enthusiasts-to-be! We had a great time at India Gate last month (and we have even greater plans in store), but for now we must continue to expand our Bitcoin dietary and nightlife options. We're headed to Central Bistro, a scenic restaurant on Denman street. Starting there this Thursday, you can use your bitcoins to enjoy fine dining, local cuisine, and craft beers on tap from the bar! Just bring your mobile device and chosen payment system, and the staff will process your orders using BitPay and a dedicated tablet device.

Those of you without enough satoshis may still order using cash, debit or credit, but the topic of today will definitely be Bitcoin! Do you have any bitcoins? How did you make them? What do you like about Bitcoin, and how far do you see bitcoins spreading further down the road? We can discuss ideas for the future, for both our Meet Up and the currency revolution, and the tech-savvy can share their projects and thoughts. It will be a fun night shared among like-minded individuals!

There will be NO automatic gratuity tonight, so PLEASE remember to tip your waiter or waitress if you had a good time. As usual, you must be at least 19 years old or older to attend. If you intend to order drinks, please remember that you need two valid pieces of identification, and that at least one of your IDs must show your photo. If on the day of the event you have any problems (lost, can't get in), feel free to text me at 778.918.7156.

Food was nice, people and conversations were interesting, although the place was a bit too dim for me and the music was a bit loud. I also have an aversion of candle decorations, after I put our out one of the waiters did ask whether I want it re-lit or was it on purpose, while another one just took it and brought back a lit one despite me gesticulating not to. Oh well. Will probably visit again.

Ooops, realized I didn't have my wallet while walking there, which is ironic since I didn't need it... but, had to head back and rule out the possibility it fell out of my pocket on Davie

No worries! PSA: do not love Bitcoin so much that you forget to keep track of your dumb wallet. At least not until the government lets us use digital ID's

Please note the RSVP cap for this event. This is due to the limited seating available at this restaurant. If all goes well, hopefully we can reserve more seating in the future. For now, please remember that if you RSVP and do not show up, you are leaving empty a seat that somebody may have wanted. There's no official policy about it, but it's respectful to people on the waiting list. We fully expect some people to show up earlier or later than others, and intended to calibrate our RSVP cap accordingly.

This ONLY applies for events with RSVP caps. We otherwise tolerate both no-shows and unregistered guests.

Everyone is permitted to be late. I calculated the RSVP cap to accommodate that. In fact, since we currently have 5 less than our max capacity, it is probably fine for some of you to show up without RSVP's, although preferably you post that you're doing so.

Looking forward to Thursday, guys, big thanks! Just wanted to let you know that we have to postpone our planned discount-for-bitcoins party at India Gate until later next month due to reasons outside of theirs or our control. In the meantime, we can meet up here and at another few surprises in the works.

Also, random question, please humor me: how many Bitcoiners like night clubs? Because I have a connection to get us a discount for tickets and/or free drinks, all paid for in bitcoins, but I wanted to see how many people are interested in that, first.
