QuadrigaCX ATM Launch Event @ 332 Water Street

In the heart of Gastown near the old Steam Clock, QuadrigaCX lies at the center of what we hope to be Vancouver's first Bitcoin retail center. Your friendly host has embarked on a campaign to convert as many local businesses as possible, starting with those within 332 Water Street. Negotiations are underway with multiple parties already, and BTC-accepting businesses--all of whom will be ready for you to see at the event--will be announced as they come.

QuadrigaCX was Canada's first physical exchange to trade both Bitcoin and Litecoin, having already processed $800,000 worth of cryptocurrency and acquired $1.2 million in the first round of investment. The directors, Co-op members with over 10 years of experience in the e-currency industry, have big plans for Vancouver and abroad: they are about to bring us a second Bitcoin ATM, a Lamassu model capable of selling bitcoins at a cheap rate. It becomes operational at a date soon to be announced in early January, and will connect to Quadriga's online trading platform.

• QuadrigaCX is one of the sponsors of CoinFest, and intends to ship Lamassu ATMs all over the world. Easily-portable, the Lamassu will be kept at their office on its opening day to showcase to the public. Inquire for bulk Bitcoin/Litecoin deals!

• Smokers Corner is a glassware and smoke shop. They will take Bitcoin here and at dozens of locations across western Canada using the Co-op's POS system. Tell them how much you would love to see a Bitcoin-themed piece at CoinFest!

• Revolver is not inside 332 Water Street, but it is only a couple blocks away, and will accept Bitcoin using the POS when this event starts thanks to Joseph Malone. It is also a relatively-popular cafe in Gastown (some might call it "hipster"), and big news for Bitcoin adoption. Try a peanut butter burger!

Stay tuned for updates. Guests are encouraged to mingle and see all of the Bitcoin venues in the area. If you have any problems on the day of the event, you can reach Andrew Wagner at 778.918.7156.

With Adam gone to India, the tech team has a backlog of POS pages to make, but we're still going to attempt to sign up Revolver tomorrow. Hopefully it pans out.

Meanwhile, thanks to our friend Austin, we have managed to find another tattoo parlour! It's called "the Fall." I will get my Bitcoin tattoo at 5 PM. Check out the design contest I'm launching on Reddit:

The tattoo artist at 332 Water Street backed out, so I am currently searching for a new parlour nearby. I definitely will still get a Bitcoin tattoo for Bitcoin, but not sure if I can still do it during this event (will try, of course).

There are, however, some cool places nearby currently contemplating accepting Bitcoin...

As stated earlier, January 9 was not set in stone because of the possibility of a Lamassu shipping delay. This has turned out to be the case, and hence the date of this event is being pushed back. I will use the extra time to prepare even more fun surprises for launch day--a prelude to the CoinFest to come. Be excited for Bitcoin in Q[masked]

The new date is January 30th. This date IS set in stone, and will not be changed.

One of the shops that is not even listed here yet as planned to accept Bitcoin had two Bitcoiners come and try to pay in BTC. While I do find this infinitely amusing, and rather approve of such behavior, I would like to warn you all not to expect BTC acceptance until launch day.

The beta version of QuadrigaCX's online trading platform is live and ready to use! The directors are Co-op members and extremely committed to your privacy, requiring verification only for high-risk deposit/withdrawal methods to prevent fraud. QuadrigaCX is an international exchange, but Canadian through and through, and uses $CAD as its base fiat until. Other cryptocurrencies should be added later--check it out at All withdrawals are initiated within 24 hours, for those of you still reeling from Gox.

Looking at their website, this blurb made me laugh - "Unprecedented Liquidity"

It just launched; give 'em time. Wait until the ATM starts operation.

The date and time are not yet set in stone due to the unpredictability of shipping. Please don't book any flights, yet, or anything like that. See this event on Facebook at
