Book Selection - Homicide: A Year on the Killing Streets, by David Simon, scheduled to occur on Thursday, November 18,[masked]:00 PM has been cancelled. Please update your plans accordingly.
I HAVE DECIDED TO POSTPONE THIS MEETUP, SINCE QUITE A FEW PEOPLE HAVE SHOWN INTEREST IN THE BOOK BUT COULDN'T FINISH THE READING IN TIME. (LET'S HAVE A MAKE-UP MEETING SOMETIME IN JANUARY?? YOUR FEEDBACK IS WELCOME!!)
INSTEAD, THIS THURSDAY, I AM MAKING A VIEWING OF THE MOVIE "SKYLINE" A MEET-UP FOR THE BIZARRE BOOK CLUB. (IT'S NOT A BOOK BUT IT MEETS THE CRITERIA FOR BIZARRE.)
This book club is for those people who aren't content with only reading and discussing the likes of popular classics and mainstream literature. If you are in the mood for something a bit edgy, rebellious, and/or eccentric, then you've come to the right place.
Focusing on revolutionary literature, cult classics, and less-mainstream topics and genres, we meet on a monthly basis in The Marigny at Flora's. Please join us for reading, conversation, debate, food, coffee and/or other tasty beverages.
(Film versions of books and or short stories will also be shown and discussed.)
WARNING:Some reading content may be controversial, graphic, explicit, obscene, and/or profane We ask that all members approach the readings and discussions with appropriate maturity and respect for others. However, this group is not for the squeamish or easily offended.
