July is BkkSci Social time again, which means we're in it for another session of fun, stimulating socializing.
This time, we would like to invite you to give lightning talks on a science-y topic of your choice. Lightning talks last no more than 5 minutes and will be a good opportunity for everyone to quickly learn about a topic that matter to you. Spoken before? Use the chance to update us. Drop us a comment if you're interested and please make sure that your (optional) slides are in PDF format.
If you weren’t there last time, BkkSci Social is just what it sounds like – a chance for members and friends to gather and enjoy an evening of food, drink and stimulating conversation. Have an idea you want to discuss or a question you want to bounce around? Raise it during dinner! A presentation you’d like to make? Bring a few props to help you along! From astronomy to archaeology, there’s nothing that’s off the table, as long as it’s science-y and, in some way or another, related to the above-mentioned theme. At the very least, it’s an opportunity to meet some new people, have some good food, and relax.
Lightning talk topics:
Mishari - Open Street Map, Open Data, Open Knowledge and your reality.
Thomas Wanhoff - Open learning: university for everyone
