The Association of Black Engineers, Scientists and Technologists
has an exciting meeting planned for this month. General Motors is hiring in the Atlanta area and wishes to attend our meeting to discuss career opportunities at its new Innovation Center in Roswell. Currently there is a thrust for Information Technologists of all stripes. If there is enough interest, we may schedule a tour of the facility. It all depends on you. You can vote by attending this meeting. Please mark your calendars and plan to attend.

After his doctorate he migrated to the United States to work in two of the most prestigious research institutions in the country. Corning Glass Works Sullivan Park where fiber optics was invented and AT&T Bell laboratories known for the discovery of the transistor and Lasers. His innovation in Technology extends from Fiber Optics to modern day Nanotechnology, with applications from cellphone batteries that last three days without charging to advanced weapon systems used by the U.S Military. Biography

Dr. Thomas O. Mensah is one of the most brilliant minds of the 21st century, described as a genius by Ebony Magazine. He was awarded 7 pioneering U.S patents in Fiber Optics in six years that reduced the cost of Fiber Optics to the same level as copper media. This innovation supports the modern day Internet for broadband transmission of pictures, video, data, voice and television signals. His work led to ultra strong defect free optical fiber used for undersea/ submarine cable that connects countries and continents, thereby extending the global reach of the Internet of today. He also worked on the Fiber Optic Guided Missile System, part of the U.S Military smart weapon system. He conceived the World Success Park, an Amusement park that includes the first African American and Latino Theme Parks to be built in the United States.
