Supported by the Amateur Astronomers Association of New York.

All Information about the event and location will be here:

http://www.moonbeam.net/InwoodAstronomy/location-ihphilltop.shtml

Event will be cancelled if it's cloudy.   http://forecast.weather.gov/MapClick.php?CityName=New+York&state=NY&site=OKX&lat=40.7198&lon=-73.993#.UgJZUmT73fA

Do NOT try to drive to the event, unless you come at about 5pm.  Dyckman Street has a vibrant nightlife, and you will NEVER find a parking spot.  Plan to arrive by subway instead.

Hi all. I'm a member of the Brainiacs group and this one. I was at the stargazing session last night. We did spot 10 meteors. The route to the hilltop was not easy. I posted photos and an account of our evening there here: http://www.meetup.com/new-york-brainiacs/events/133542982/

Since the lights don't go off till 10, is that when we will be starting?
We are still going to meet at 830, yes?
I might arrive late because I'm coming in from fire island.
Somebody who is going to be there please text me their phone number because I will probably get lost, as I have an underdeveloped sense of direction

Will there be a notice sent out to everyone if the event is cancelled? Thanks! It'll be my first time attending and I'm coming from a distance.

Ok, I'm seriously going to try to make it this time. How is the parking in the area? Is it hard to find a spot?

Parking is nearby on the street. But it is always best to take the subway. Please note the location change.

Do not try to park near Dyckman Street on a Saturday night. It's a big party area, and you will NOT find a spot. I suggest that you park far off, or even down Broadway, and take the subway up two stops to the Dyckman street exit. Do not expect to find Parking in Inwood on Saturday night. Take the train if you can.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
