Overnight meet up at Kris and Tristian's new country home!

  • Aug 25, 2012 · 10:00 AM
  • This location is shown only to members

Kris and Tristian invite their Blaze friends to come to their new country home in Califon NJ.

The plan is to leave NYC area by carpool Saturday morning. Califon is about an hour away (assuming no traffic), and is right next to the Ken Lockwood Gorge, which is one of the “Ten Most Beautiful Places in NJ."

When we get there options will include activities in the Gorge or hiking at the close by Columbia Trail. Tristian will even provide fly fishing lessons.

After nature activities we can hang out in downtown Califon with its chic cafes. Saturday night we can sleep over at the new place, either camping in the yard or inside.

Also, don't forget your swimwear. Their new home has a pool!

Unfortunately, since this meetup is at a private home, only members who have participated in previous Blaze activities or who know Tristian and Kris may sign up.

Will be a fun time for all.

Awesome! Kris and Tristian were very nice and warm hosts.
They made us all very welcome and comfortable in their beautiful 1850's country home.
And the rest of the Blaze members who attended were all very nice and friendly.
We all had a great time!
Many thanks to Kris & Tristian and Todd for organizing this event.

Memo, dogs are welcome on most of our backpacking trips. I often bring my dog Spencer (the white poodle mix who is in some of the posted pictures). I plan to post some backpacking trips for fall that Toby will be welcome to join us. Looking forward to meeting you and Toby. Cheers. Todd

Ok, I made a reservation for the Pink Room here: http://www.neighbourhouse.com/roomsandrates.htm. If anyone wants to share it with me, your half would be $70 (includes tax) for a shared queen bed and shared bath.

Thanks, but now that I realize I can sleep inside, I'll bring a sleeping sack and pad and be part of the on-site party!
