Hi Dale,

Thanks for posting the trip. It looks like there a people signing up that have never been on an overnight and some currently do not have any gear for overnight camping.  A few words of advice:

1) be clear about gear list eg:
- min. rating for  sleeping bag
- min. size of pack
- what a bear bag is, length of rope required
2) no matter how many emails you send about food/toiletries people will bring too much- this will be a challenge when trying to bear bag everything, so bring extra rope and bags. show people how to bear bag for themselves so they learn why to be minimal on a back-country trip
3) have back-up for all essentials - cooking/water filter

This is a link to a sample interactive google doc that I used to help plan a trip. You may find a similar doc will help - I found it drastically reduced the number of emails I had to send around.


These are lessons I've learned organizing  backcountry trips for gay men over the last two years.
