Announcing a new Meetup for BLAZE >> Backpacking Gay Men of NYC!

What: Winter Overnight #1

When: Saturday, December 4,[masked]:00 AM

Where: Harriman or the Catskills

There may be no presents under the trees, but the woods are the perfect place to get into the winter spirit. After all, nothing says holidays like good battle with hypothermia. So bust out your ultra-lightweight Santa Clause hat and your favorite one-pot potato pancake recipe -- this is going to be a Blaze trip to remember.

(Except we WON'T battle with hypothermia. That was just a joke -- calm down, folks!)

This will be a cold weather overnight backcountry camping trip and you will need clothing and gear for winter camping. We will head to somewhere new in Harriman or the Catskills (1-2 hours away) depending on weather and access to cars. The trek in and out will be between 5-10 miles over moderate to strenuous terrain. Costs will just cover expenses and be moderate. Further trip details will be sent around on Wednesday December 1st.

If you are interested, please sign the waiting list. The ultimate group size will depend on transport and the experience level of the people signing up.

**Only members who have been on at least a dayhike with BLAZE>> will be allowed on the event.**

There is a typical gear list for backcountry gear and clothing posted in the "files" section listed in the menu bar to the left. Please review and let me know if you have any questions about cold weather gear.

Cheers,
Nate
