Announcing a new Meetup for BLAZE >> Backpacking Gay Men of NYC!

What: ADIRONDACK CANOE CAMP II (or JJ's revenge)

When: Thursday, May 27,[masked]:00 PM

Price: $150.00 per person

Where: (A location has not been chosen yet.)

Memorial weekend 4 day / 3 night canoeing and camping in the Adirondacks- route yet to be determined. If you haven't been canoe camping before - IT'S GREAT!! You can get somewhere completely beautiful and remote, but still bring A FEW comforts of home (cooler, serious cook gear, etc.).

The goal is to be on a lake that is remote and without motor boats. After a still water paddle in of around 10 miles, we will have two full days in paradise, and will probably not move camp location because of the busy holiday weekend. Usually marshlands and some hiking are near by. There will also be plenty of time for photography, sketching, journalling, napping, snacking . . . . .

Leave Thursday May 27 after work or EARLY Friday May 28, drive 6 hours to Tupper Lake and pick-up gear and before heading to the canoe launch return to NYC Monday May 31.

If taking Friday off is an issue - let me know in your RSVP. Maybe a second group can head in and join up with the rest of us on Saturday

8-10 depending on rules of the camp site.

CANOE RENTALS: $150 (approx)
As in all BLAZE>> trips it will be a great fun:cost ratio.

I will post deposit requirements in the beginning of April - this is a holiday weekend so gear rentals go fast.

NOTE #1: Only members that have attended an outdoor event can join multi-day trips. As the year progresses, there will be more day events scheduled with large group maximums for new members to participate in.

NOTE#2: Group sizes for backcountry events are kept small for group safety, enjoyment, logistics and last but not least minimizing impact on the environment. Please remember BLAZE>> is a volunteer organization and all trips are run at the discretion of our generous leaders. Your enthusiasm for our group is greatly appreciated and if you can't get on a trip, please keep signing up for events - anything can happen when you are on a waiting list!
