Sencha Touch in the Wild

We have a couple of special guests this month (fellow members of our meetup group) who will be presenting Sencha Touch applications they have developed and distributed.  It's always interesting and instructive to see what your peers have built, so I hope everyone will come out for some real-world perspective on Touch app development!

Experiences Wrapping / Submitting a Sencha Touch App to the App Stores

John Rhodes of CM First will demonstrate the PhoneGap technology behind two insurance-related Touch apps that are on the app stores now, and discuss some lessons learned.  CM First is a systems integrator with a focus on using Sencha Touch for application modernization efforts, for example creating mobile front ends for IBM i/z host based applications.

Sencha Touch: Perspective of a Non-developer, non-JavaScript Hustler

Nikos Bentenitis specializes in molecular dynamics simulations for the petroleum industry and in cell transmission modeling for the transportation industry. Though he is not a mobile developer by trade, he has one app in the App Store (www.petroleumapps.com) and he is designing a few more that perform standard engineering calculations.

Let's meet up at 7.  I'll plan on having a few pizzas this time for folks to munch on.  After the presentations are done, anyone who's interested will also head over to Buffalo Billiards to continue the conversation.  Hope to see you there!

Fantastic meeting! I'm completely new to Sencha, yet I benefited from the presentations and the side discussions. Participants were welcoming and eager to share.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
