The February 2009 Vancouver Blogger Meetup

St. Augustine's Pub (map)

Selected By: Raul

The previous meetup seemed quite successful and people have raved about The End Cafe. Yeah, it might have been slightly noisy, but they did accomodate us as best as we could (separate bills, reserved a whole area for us, lowered the volume when we requested it).

Given that people really enjoyed the presentations by Mandy and Pete on what they blogged about, I'm opening up up to four (4) spots to give short talks about what you blog. If I don't receive enough volunteer speakers by February 20th, I will e-mail a few of you to ask personally :)

By the time we hold this meetup, we will have already had Vancouver Twestival and Northern Voice, so I'm sure there'll be LOTS to talk about in relation to blogging.

As with any of the other meetups, please do feel free to share this information and invite other bloggers or people who are interested in blogging. Needless to say, my intention with VBM is to make the event MORE inclusive, not LESS inclusive.

All the best

I had a wonderful time, and although it was rather noisy, I hope that people enjoyed themselves. Sorry about the noise, I knew in advance that they had the 25 Dates event, but the owners promised to give us the more private area (the one the 25 Dates event had) for next time.

Please remember to fill in your feedback when you receive the "Rate Your Meetup" email. It helps me assess how I'm doing wrt the organization of the meetup!

Nice crowd, good food, a bit noisey so harder to socialize, but all in all but great to meet & mingle. My thanks also to John Chow for the book give-away.
