Re: [blrdroid] Android ContactSync

I am not a expert in Java coding nor Android but In order to verify changes we normally use Hashing mechanisms

first time when you sync the dbs, just create hash of every record (whole record as single entity). and subsequent sync just require verification of hashes. if there is a difference in the hash then the respective record is changed else move on to the next one. this is actually faster if implemented properly.

Also, the stackoverflow link says the question is asked today with just 15 views (2 views are mine). I understand your desperate need of help in understanding but show some patience, you will get it,

haha, its obvious when it goes to 1000 records backup takes time. store the contacts with their assigned id. compare the id and just backup the ids that are not in the backup database

Hi All,

I have been breaking my head to sync the contact from the android contact manager DB to my app's local DB.
My code to compare the DB at regular interval to Sync is working but its way ineffecient when contact list grows by 1000.

If anyone can point me to the right direction, I will be glad.(Wasted a week on this stackoverflow link)
