Hi Amrit,

It's actually crashing on some and the UI is getting messed up on some , so I guess we have a mixed bag,

Could you hint at some useful links which educate the dev's on the best UI practices with some examples please ?

HI Rahul ,

what do u mean by app devices . all versions of android or it crashes on certain specific devices .
if u are talking about UI not coming up correctly it usually the first reason mentioned below
  • devs not using the best practices and recommended guidelines. Might sound simple but this is by far the number one reason. Most devs get away blaming it on "so called fragmentation" of the OS :)
  • using deprecated apis  ( not so common but stil show some unexpected behaviour on devices from different manufactures )
  • using device specific apis ( quite rare ; usually devs who do this already know what they are doing )
cheers,

Amrit Sanjeev

Hi,

I have been facing issues with some of our apps not working on all the Android devices.

Can someone here help me with:
1) What to ensure from the development angle to enable the app to work on all Android devices.
2) What tools to use to test on all devices ,I am aware there are many online tools available , so can someone suggest the best and most reasonable one?
