normally when you want to enable pass code you can use Android Preference. or you can use a sqllite db your wish, there is a simple library if you want to enable pattern lock https://code.google.com/p/android-lockpattern/

best to use a fragment/activity instead of dialog for the same.

Hi,
I am developing an app, where I would want my users to enter a passcode/password before performing the operations. Is it best if I provide the login option using a custom dialog? Also, if I want users to register to the app by entering a passcode/password which they will later use to login to the app, How can I achieve it? Registration should be only once when they install the app for first time.

Thank you in advance.

Regards,
  Bharat
