It was great meeting many of you last night. I've recently moved back to the East Coast after a stint in Silicon Valley and Southeast Asia, and it's great to connect with smart people.
Over the last several months I've been working on a startup using mostly offshore developers. The startup, RiseTribe, is geared around helping people make positive changes in their life, whether working out more or writing a book. It's been great to see people using the site and we're getting growing traffic each day without advertising or doing any real outreach. And perhaps more significantly, a group of investors expressed interest in acquiring us (we took a pass).
However, I've realized that a strong technical founder is needed as we move forward. Thus, I'm looking for someone with experience using open source stack ( Linux, Ruby on Rails, and MySQL) to join the team. Experience with git, social networking applications, jQuery, and charting libraries would be great. We use Pivotal Tracker and HAML 'cuz we're cool like that.
I'd like to find someone who could take a strong equity position, but there could be a cash/equity package possible. This could be a part-time position initially, with a shift to full-time as things take-off.
If interested, please email me the following info:
- Please describe your Rails experience, specifically, including any applications you have worked on that are currently in production (and the level of traffic they get).
- Send a link to your Github repository or a sample of RoR code you have written (no need to send whole applications, but larger is better)
- Your resume
- Your availability (when you could start, hours per week available)
Feel free to drop me a note if you have questions or want to talk about the possibilities,
