gang,

I'm glad to have found you. I've written three different Rails apps for private customers and I love it. I can't make tomorrow's meeting but I look forward to meeting you all soon.

I'd like to volunteer to give talks on the following topics:

* REST
* Test-driven development

Hey, Mike. Welcome! Thanks for volunteering to present. I'm interested in hearing more about both topics, but TDD especially. I've had a couple of false starts with it, but haven't been able to find a groove.

With tonight's forecasted ice, you may not be the only one missing the meeting.

Looking forward to meeting you.

I'm interested in both of these topics as well, so another +1

Awesome! The best resource for TDD that I have found, which I highly recommend, is the book "Beginning Ruby on Rails: E-Commerce" which you can find here:

http://www.amazon.com...

Rails 1.2 made a lot of the coding examples a bit obsolete (no use of respond_to or REST routes for example), but it's a very clear demonstration of how to write the test, then the code. They do it over and over again, and the times when they don't use TDD they explain why.

All,

Here is a good PDF file overview of REST written by a couple of German Rails developers:

DHH's keynote address at RailsConf 2006 is a very explanation of the philosophical underpinnings of REST and Rails:
