Github's Hubot and Inside JS Code Compression

Github's Hubot - Kyle Fritz

GitHub's hubot is slick little SOB capable of a wide range of things from the very silly to the actually useful. Customizable in coffeescript or javascript, you can control the sucker through group messaging like hipchat or campfire. We've been using him at LocalUp for months now, I'll show everyone how to make him do their bidding..

Inside JS Code Compression - Shea Frederick

What do JavaScript code compression tools actually do, and how do they do it? Do we even need code compression when content is GZipped by web servers? I dug into the core of some of the best code compressors out there and crunched the numbers to answer these questions and more. Learn how you can write JavaScript in a way that helps these compressors do their job more effectively, while maintaining the readability and speed of your code.

Lightning Talks

Do you have something you'd like to share? A new library, a cool project, or just need a soapbox to rant from? We're making time for multiple 5-minute lightning talks at the beginning of every meetup. Email the organizers and we'll add you to the schedule.

Location: in Tide Point has offered their space to us for our meetups, it's located in Tide Point in the Ivory Building. Enter the building under the large sign that says "Ivory" and walk by the big blue crab then take an immediate left.

If you bike over, feel free to bring your bike inside, or lock up on one of the outdoor racks. You can also take the water taxi over from Fells Point (landing #8) to landing #10.

If you drive, park in one of the Green or Purple areas:

Green is designated visitor spaces, they are also marked "visitor" on the pavement (do not park in 'reserved' or 'handicap' spots unless you have a permit). Purple is the employee lot.

The Blue marker is the entrance to the meeting space on Haubert St.
